For the fourth consecutive year, the Padel Zaragoza facilities hosted the Enerland Padel Tournament, which held this new edition of the event on April 26.
More than twenty Enerland employees in Spain participated in the company’s traditional competition, divided into Gold and Silver categories. A total of seven pairs competed for the Gold trophy, a category intended for the most veteran players, while eight colleagues competed for the top score in Silver, for Enerland’s new talents. The tournament took place throughout the morning, with close matches in which the camaraderie between pairs and opponents was outstanding.
As a new feature, this 4th edition of the tournament added a rule in the Gold category: the pairs were determined randomly. This extra was applied in order to favor all employees equally and encourage interdepartmental links. The proposal, already included in previous editions for the Silver category, was well received by all players.
Other employees from the headquarters, who visited Pádel Zaragoza to cheer on the competitors, joined the Gold final as spectators. After a tight match, Raúl Sánchez (O&M) and Javier Franco (Environmental Department) were procclaimed champions of the tournament. Sandra Pascual (EPC) took first place in Silver. Congratulations to everyone for their efforts and the great skills!
After the tournament, the event continued on the premises with a barbecue at which our employees were able to recharge their batteries amidst conversations and anecdotes.
Enerland and sports
The company, in an effort to promote good habits the values of sports and a healthy lifestyle, promotes multiple events throughout the year that focus on these activities. In addition to the traditional Padel Tournament, Zaragoza also hosts an annual soccer match between coworkers. Enerland also encourages other employee initiatives, such as Enerland Group’s participation it the MLA Soccer League in Zaragoza, or the Business Padel Tournament held by Pádel Zaragoza, which will begin this May. The next sports event in which the company participates will be the 11th ATADES Solidarity Race, on May 11.
