For this team meeting, the Spanish and Italian Environmental departments joined forces to further promote sustainability in projects and exchange knowledge.
Sharing working methods and procedures to achieve better results: this was the premise of Enerland’s Spanish and Italian teams to hold this special meeting between the two countries. This was the first phase of an exchange in which our environmentalists learnt first-hand about the work of their colleagues.
On this occasion, Davide Ricco, Ilaria Castagnetti, and Michele del Vecchio, from the Environmental department at Enerland Italia, were the ones who traveled to the central headquarters of the company, in Zaragoza. Daisy Rodriguez, Head of the department in Spain, and Javier Franco, coordinated the week’s schedule. The visit began with a presentation of the projects the department is working on in each country. This and the subsequent meetings placed special emphasis on the development and construction stages of each plant. These were combined with field visits to see on the ground what was discussed at the office.
The environmental team meeting between both branches was enriched by the knowledge of each team. From Spain, highlighting their experience solving problems that may arise during the development and construction of the projects, as well as their methodology when proceeding. On the other hand, Italian colleagues were able to share their knowledge about agrivoltaics. The Italian team had the opportunity to visit projects in different stages: a 44 MWp project in the construction phase, another one in the final phase of construction (our largest EPC project to date, 136 MWp)… As well as PV plants Tellus and Mitra, both in operation, and where the environmental complementary measures are already in place.
Gaining experience, growing as a team
“Sharing experiences and learning how work is done in other countries gives us a fantastic perspective when undertaking new projects. It is specially interesting to discover first-hand what is involved in the development and construction of agrivoltaic projects in Italy, as it is an innovative type of project that sooner or later will also make a strong impact in Spain. Moreover, having the opportunity to exchange impressions with professionals such as Davide, Ilaria and Michele is a privilege for our team” -Javier Franco, Environmental Technician at Enerland Spain.
The meetings and field trips in Zaragoza were also combined with leisure time to allow both teams to strenghten their ties, including a padel match between Italian and Spanish colleagues.
This exchange is scheduled to continue in future meetings, also in Italy, with the visit of the Spanish environmental team. A visit that will help both countries to continue to grow in their developments, and that will allow us to continue to improve as professionals.
