Work begins on the Grupo Arquero solar project. This photovoltaic installation will connect a power of 1.4MW to the country’s electricity grid.

Work begins on Grupo Arquero, our first photovoltaic project in El Salvador . This installation, whose structure will be carried out on the ground, will be the first in the country.

Under the “turnkey” modality, Enerland begins the execution of this plant and continues with its plans in the country at a good pace. Before the end of this year 2015, the company expects to have at least 6 photovoltaic parks connected to the grid and operational. It should be noted that all of them have been awarded through tenders.

The Grupo Arquero project, will connect a power of 1.4MW to the electrical grid. The installation of the photovoltaic modules will be carried out on a land whose extension exceeds 3 hectares and will be located in Barrio Nuevo, San Vicente region. Likewise, the solar plant will have a one-axis tracker structure that will allow maximum performance and profitability of the installation to be obtained. On the other hand, regarding the key dates, this project will begin its implementation in March of this year.

This project is expected to produce an average annual energy of 2,940 MWh. This energy is the equivalent of the electricity needed to supply approximately 900 homes in the country. In addition, thanks to the generation of renewable solar energy, this electricity production will prevent the emission of more than 1,444 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere.

On the other hand, the company continues to work with its growth plan. In parallel with the execution of this project, we continue working on the development of the other 5 parks that we have awarded in the country. As mentioned previously, by the end of this year, all will be operational connecting their power to the electricity grid of the Central American country.
