We continue to grow. We announced our new expansion in Argentina thanks to the award of the San Martín project.

More than a decade ago, we began our journey through America with enthusiasm. The solar potential of the continent has led us to work in Mexico, El Salvador, Costa Rica and Colombia. Today, through the Renew Mini / Round 3 Program, we have received the award of a new solar project. In this way, we are especially excited to announce our new expansion in Argentina!

The San Martín Project, located in the province of Mendoza, Argentina, will become our first solar execution in South America. Together with him, there will be 15 our solar parks on the continent. San Martín, will generate a power of 13.6 MWp and its commissioning is expected to begin at the end of 2022.

Argentina bets on renewables

Argentina has long been aware of the need for a new energy model. Its objective: that renewable energies represent 20% of electricity by 2025 . To achieve its goal, the Argentine Government committed itself and approved specific laws aimed at streamlining processes. However, the very orography of the territory has hindered the development of these energies in recent years.

At present, it is expected that, during 2020 and 2021, the figures for generating electricity through renewable sources such as the sun, will increase notably.

In addition, taking into account the forecasts for 2030, Argentina intends to triple its renewable capacity. With such stable and continuous growth, it is expected to reach reach 16% of the total own consumption of electricity . Figure that has been marked to obtain before December 31, 2021.

Together with the rest of our projects in America , whether finished or under development, the new expansion in Argentina will contribute to the fulfillment of the UN SDGs . These initiatives will not only benefit the economy of its citizens, but also the environment.

We are looking forward to seeing our first project in Argentina!
