Enerland Group, Galp and DEMA join forces to collaborate on the installation of the first “primillar” (construction for lesser kestrels) at one of the PV plants completed by Enerland in Spain.
With the aim of promoting harmony between renewable energy generation and the conservation of the environment, Enerland Group has completed its first “primillar” construction at one of the photovoltaic plants built by the company in Spain. It is photovoltaic plant Pitarco, located in Muel (Aragón), and owned by Galp. This project has been developed in collaboration with DEMA, an organization with extensive experience in the protection of steppe birds and the restoration of natural habitats.
This new construction, designed and built by DEMA’s technical team, aims to facilitate the establishment of a colony of lesser kestrels, a small migratory bird of prey that plays a key role in the ecological balance of agricultural ecosystems. This safe space, tailored to their needs, is expected to contribute to the conservation and recovery of their populations in the area.
This initiative is part of Enerland Group’s environmental strategy. The strategy aims to integrate biodiversity conservation into every phase of the development of their photovoltaic projects. For the company, generating clean energy goes beyond installing solar modules: it also involves responsible land management and the implementation of measures that benefit local flora and fauna.
“At Enerland Group, we believe that the energy transition must proceed in a way that respects the environment. Each project is an opportunity to leave a positive impact in the environment. This “primillar” symbolizes that commitment and demonstrates that solar energy can and must coexist with biodiversity conservation”, highlights Javier Franco, Head of the Environmental Team at Enerland Group.
With the installation of this first “primillar” construction, Enerland Group, Galp and DEMA consolidate a collaboration that combines technical expertise with environmental awareness. All with the aim of reaffirming their shared commitment to promoting a sustainable energy model that respects biodiversity for future generations.
