Visit to the Pitarco Solar Park during the first phase of its construction, which is progressing at a remarkable pace.

Last week our colleagues visited the Pitarco Photovoltaic Plant during the first phase of its construction. During the visit, they were able to observe the different stages taking place simultaneously across the site's more than 100 hectares.

The full surface area of the photovoltaic plant is divided into 10 work zones, which Francisco Pérez, site supervisor, toured. During the visit, our colleague explained in detail the stage each of them is currently at.

On this occasion, as a first introduction to the construction phase, Sandra Pascual and Juan Guimbao, technical engineers at Monticell, together with our colleagues from the Marketing and Communication department, Pilar Asta and Ana Valdizán, were able to observe its progress first-hand.

"It has been my first close-up experience of work on a photovoltaic plant. While at Monticell I am used to working with self-consumption installations, visits like this make it striking to see the size of the plant. On the other hand, the major differences between the two types of photovoltaic installation also stand out: earthworks, fencing and pile driving, among others... I am very keen to come back and see how the different phases progress. I am grateful to Enerland for the opportunity to visit this type of plant. It has been a very enriching experience. It is also helping me grow professionally in this field," Sandra Pascual, Technical Engineer at Monticell, the industrial photovoltaic self-consumption division.

About the project

Located on a large expanse of land adjacent to the Pitarco Industrial Estate, in the municipality of Muel, Zaragoza, this solar plant will connect 62 MWp to the grid. It will be Enerland's largest project in the Iberian Peninsula to date. The Pitarco solar park will produce an estimated average annual output of 122,603 MWh. This renewable energy is equivalent to the electricity required to supply more than 29,679 Spanish households.
