Construction begins on Pitarco, our new solar park in Spain. Located in the town of Muel, Zaragoza, this new solar plant will generate a capacity of 61.91 MWp.
Everything is now ready for the construction of our new project. Pitarco will be our new solar plant in Spain. It will also become our largest project on the Iberian Peninsula. Located on a site of more than 100 hectares, adjoining the Pitarco Industrial Estate in the municipality of Muel, Zaragoza, this solar plant will connect 47.8 MWn to the grid.
On this occasion, we have developed every phase of the project, from the preliminary studies through to commissioning. Pitarco will be delivered under the EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction). Through this type of agreement, we offer our clients a turnkey service for the full construction of the project.
Pitarco photovoltaic park
The Pitarco solar plant will produce an estimated average annual output of 117,804 MWh. This renewable energy is equivalent to the electricity required for the consumption of more than 38,500 Spanish households.
Furthermore, in terms of the project's technical figures, a structure with two-in-portrait trackers in a 1V configuration will be installed as part of the works. Subsequently, the project will be completed with the installation of more than 114,000 bifacial photovoltaic panels, 213 string inverters and 10 transformation centres. In addition to the construction of the plant, Enerland will also fully deliver a 15/45 kV step-up substation, from which a 45 kV underground line will run to connect us to the electricity distribution grid.
It is estimated that more than 50 workers will be involved in this new solar park. In addition, local companies have been contracted for its execution in order to support the area’s local development.
Developments in Spain
Spain is a country with great potential in terms of photovoltaic energy development. Its geographical position allows it to receive a high level of average solar radiation throughout the year. At Enerland, we are committed to our country of origin. For this reason, we currently have a development pipeline of more than 600 MW.
