Today we are proud to present our new photovoltaic park in Arjona, Bolívar. Through the development carried out by our Enerland Colombia office, work is beginning on our new solar facility in the country.

This new photovoltaic plant in Colombia is intended to feed energy under a self-consumption arrangement. It will cover an area of approximately 13 hectares. Located in the city of Arjona, Bolívar, Colombia, this ground-mounted installation will generate a capacity of 5.5 MWp-4.5 MWac. In addition, it will produce average annual energy of 11.3 GWh. The installation includes Longi 450 Wp modules, Huawei inverters and a 2V Gonvarri tracker structure.

These types of installations allow our clients to make considerable savings on their electricity bills. They also contribute to the development of renewable energy, fostering a more sustainable future. Photovoltaic solar energy avoids the emission of tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere compared with the generation of other types of energy, as well as avoiding noise pollution. Specifically, this new photovoltaic plant in Colombia contributes to the objectives established by the the UN in its 2030 Agenda. Thanks to it, both the emission of more than 38,600 tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere and the reduction in electricity costs, which make it more affordable.

Our subsidiary Enerland Colombia has been operating since 2017. During this period, it has have carried out numerous photovoltaic projects for development, construction, operation and maintenance in the country. Similarly, work has been carried out both on self-consumption projects and on solar installations intended to sell energy to the grid.

From an energy perspective, Colombia had always been a country whose main source of electricity came from non-renewables. With more than 50 million inhabitants, the climate and environmental changes, meant that this situation could not last forever. In the middle of the last century, a energy transition a renewable alternatives and clean for the planet to redress that balance.
