Our Environment department attended the 1st Bioagrovoltaic Conference organised by UNEF on 21 March. The event brought together more than 200 attendees from the photovoltaic sector, companies and a range of experts in the field.

The Assembly Hall of the Regional School of Administration in Toledo hosted the event, at which the opportunities and challenges offered by organic farming in combination with solar photovoltaic energy production were discussed. In order to gather and synthesise all this information, UNEF presented during the event the Spain's first Bioagrovoltaics Report.

The event analysed how the implementation of bio-agrovoltaic techniques must be adapted to each territory and project, as spaces have different particular characteristics. The discussion highlighted the importance of providing verified and reliable data on the impact of agrovoltaics when proposing their use, while also setting specific objectives to measure their development.

Daisy Rodríguez, head of the Environmental Department at Enerland Group, commented: “At Enerland, we believe it is possible to reconcile sustainable agriculture, green energy, the redistribution of biodiversity and the conservation of water resources. For this reason, we collaborate in the search for dynamic agrivoltaic solutions that make it possible to develop new perspectives for the sustainable management of this activity in a way that is compatible with renewable energy.”

Environmental area at Enerland Group

At Enerland Group, we have a department dedicated exclusively to studying, assessing and minimising the impact our activity may have on the environment. To this end, our Environmental team implements various measures not only during project development, but also during its construction, and after it. Some of these measures include wildlife fencing, revegetation, and the construction of shelters for fauna.
