Our client GALP visits Pitarco (62 MW), the photovoltaic plant located in Muel that is under construction.
Last Friday, the GALP team decided to visit Pitarco. To do so, they travelled to the Zaragoza facilities to learn about the current status of the photovoltaic park.
Construction of the Pitarco solar plant began a few months ago. Since then, the different areas of the site, located across more than 100 hectares of land, have been progressing simultaneously. Construction is expected to continue at the current pace, so commissioning will take place before the end of the year.
The visit to Pitarco
If there is one thing that defines us, it is our alignment with each and every one of our clients' objectives. One of the main goals in this client's case is to become the safest energy company in the world. To achieve this, as we have done on other occasions, we focus on following a policy fully committed to preventing risks and accidents in the workplace.
During the visit, Enerland Group's management together with the GALP team they carried out a safety walk through the different areas of the plant. In this way, they were able to assess each and every risk in the construction phase and the measures applied to prevent them.
The Solar Plant
Once construction is completed, Pitarco will be Enerland Group's largest project in Spain to date. Once it is fully commissioned, it will produce an average of approximately 122,603 MWh of energy each year. This renewable energy is equivalent to the electricity required to supply more than 29,679 Spanish households. In addition, this photovoltaic project will prevent the emission of approximately 42,000 tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere each year.
