Enerland Group has completed construction of its La Tolúa and Tierra Linda photovoltaic parks located in Córdoba, Colombia.
Following the construction of the Canal del Dique photovoltaic plant for Surtigas in 2021, Enerland Group completed the construction of two new photovoltaic plants in Colombia. Both projects, La Tolúa (26.19 MW) and Tierra Linda (12.71 MW), were commissioned in April 2023.
Across a site of more than 75 hectares, a total of 72,720 bifacial solar panels were installed on a tracker structure. Both parks will generate an average of 77 GWh of renewable energy. This energy is equivalent to that required to supply the consumption of 56,166 households. It will also prevent the emission of 23,533 tonnes of polluting gases into the atmosphere each year, contributing to the country's sustainable development.
These two photovoltaic plants in Colombia are added to the Enerland’s international portfolio on the continent which will close out 2023 with more than 100 MWp of completed works.
Corporate Social Responsibility in Colombia
At Enerland, we are committed not only to the development of renewable energy, but also to achieving a sustainable future that is environmentally and socially responsible through good practice in every country where we are actively involved. Some of the measures we applied during the construction of these two plants include:
- Once the works were completed, forest and fruit species native to each project's area of influence were planted. In total, more than 3,500 varieties of trees and shrubs.
- For both parks, more than 160 direct local jobs were created in mechanical, electrical and civil works. In addition, this figure includes nearly 60 indirect workers who supported colleagues on site. Donations were also made to communities in the project’s area of influence, consisting of waste generated by the project such as strapping, timber and pipes, which the communities are able to make use of.
