This Tuesday, Enerland came out on top in the MITECO auction held to allocate the Renewable Energy Economic Regime (REER), winning almost half of the megawatts awarded.
The Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge issued yesterday's decision of progress towards an energy transition based on renewable energy. In the nationwide auction, 140 MW were at stake for the category of locally based installations below 5 MW. Ultimately, only 31 MW were allocated in this category, just over 22% of the total planned.
In this category, Enerland outperformed the other companies, becoming the only Aragonese company to win the auction and also holding 3 of the 6 total projects approved.
The 12 MW awarded will be distributed across three photovoltaic projects of less than 5 MW. Two of them will be located in the province of Zaragoza and the last in the province of Huesca. In economic terms specifically, the awarded projects are as follows: 4.2 MW at a price of 44.98 €/MWh; 4.9 MW at 54.98 €/MWh; and 2.9 MW at 47.98 €/MWh.
The future solar plants located in the region of Aragón already form part of an international project portfolio that currently totals 2.4 GW. In addition, they will make a major contribution to the autonomous community's progress towards developing energy based on renewable sources, such as photovoltaics. Before October 2024, the three projects will be fully built and their commissioning will be effective. At that point, they will generate 9,193 MWh/h; 12,105 MWh/year and 5,161 MWh/year of energy, respectively.
This is not the first time Enerland has come out on top in a tender. In 2020, it won 10 MW in an auction in the neighbouring country. At that time, we succeeded in breaking the world record for photovoltaic energy in terms of €/MWh by bidding 11.14 €/MWh.
