Enerland arrives in Manila and other areas of the South Asian region with major projects in mind. Through our subsidiary in the Philippines, we are beginning the development of solar plants by providing EPC services.

We are pleased to announce that Enerland has arrived in the Philippines and, for several months now, we have already had our own staff and resources in Manila. Through our new office, we are entering the Asian continent by developing engineering and construction services for photovoltaic plants.

In 2013, renewable energy provided almost 27% of total energy needs in the Philippines. A figure that we aim to increase through the development of photovoltaic energy.

As a country with more than 108 million inhabitants, it has been, and continues to be, highly dependent on fossil fuels. This year it has reached its highest figures, with energy consumption at 62.4%. At present, the incorporation of new renewable energy sources is beginning to be promoted more strongly, since geothermal and biomass were the most common. In view of these figures, below we provide a breakdown of the percentage share of these two energy sources over the past year:

At present, most solar energy projects are being developed in rural areas. These developments make it possible to meet the needs of the population living in the country’s most remote regions. This is why these parks are smaller in scale than those we are more accustomed to in Europe. In addition, these installations are characterised by being off-grid, off-grid. For the time being, it will be necessary to analyse and observe how the photovoltaic sector evolves in the Philippines. This South-East Asian country is developing very rapidly and has a very large population.

Enerland arrives in the Philippines not only to optimise its natural resources and create clean, green energy, but also to help restore the balance. We are always excited to arrive on a new continent. We will keep you updated on all the latest developments in this other part of the world!
