Enerland Group has completed construction of the Laranjeiras photovoltaic plant (PFV) in Portugal’s Alentejo region, connecting 10.8 MWp of clean, sustainable solar energy to the grid.

After several months of work, Enerland Group has successfully completed the construction and commissioning of the Laranjeiras photovoltaic park for its client Aquila Clean Energy. With an installed capacity of 10.8 MW, the plant has been developed using cutting-edge technology and in line with the highest standards of quality, safety and sustainability.

The project has 18,200 photovoltaic modules capable of generating an estimated annual output of 20.7 GWh, enough to cover the energy needs of up to 6,300 Portuguese households. Thanks to this installation, between 16,000 and 53,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions will be avoided each year, making a significant contribution to the country's decarbonisation goals.

During the works, priority was given to efficiency in construction processes, integration with the surroundings and resource optimisation, in order to ensure a positive impact both on the local community and on Portugal’s energy transition.

"The commissioning of the Laranjeiras plant strengthens the trusting relationship we maintain with Aquila Clean Energy and consolidates Enerland Group as a strategic partner in the development of renewable infrastructure in Europe," noted Miguel Subtil, Country Manager of Enerland Group in Portugal.

This new project represents a further step in the company’s commitment to expanding clean energy and meeting European climate targets.

Enerland Group in Portugal

Since opening our office in Portugal in 2019, Enerland Group has consolidated its presence in the country as a developer, builder and operator of renewable energy projects. We currently have a pipeline of 20 MW of solar and wind projects under development, reflecting our commitment to the energy transition and the decarbonisation of the Portuguese electricity system.

With Laranjeiras, we reached our fourth project built in Portugal. This milestone will soon be joined by the 10.8 MWp Aldeia da Serra photovoltaic plant, also developed for Aquila Clean Energy, whose grid connection is expected shortly.

This journey reaffirms Enerland Group’s commitment to Portugal as a strategic market in Europe and its ambition to be a leading partner in advancing clean energy.
