Enerland Group, a Spanish multinational headquartered in Zaragoza, ends the year with the signing of its largest agreement to date in Italy: the Nox project.
This strategic alliance with DRI, a division of DTEK, will allow the European company to combine energy production from renewable sources with agricultural activities in the province of Nuoro, in Sardinia. In total, four projects will add up to a total installed capacity of 166 MWp and, once completed, will generate approximately 307 GWh annually and avoid more than 101,000 tonnes of CO2.
Manuel Balet and Javier Gil, CEOs of Enerland Group stated: “We are delighted to embark on this journey with DRI, whose vision as a long-term investor aligns perfectly with ours. This partnership lays the foundations for what we trust will be an extraordinary journey together across many more projects and geographies.”
Diego González, Country Manager at Enerland Group, who led the agreement on behalf of the company, added: “We are proud that DRI has chosen our specialised development team to successfully deliver these strategic projects. We expect our deep knowledge of the territory and our experience in Agrivoltaico to be key to achieving DRI’s ambitious goals in the Italian market”.
John Stuart, CEO of DRI, said: “Italy is one of DRI’s key markets. We see enormous potential here to develop our portfolio of renewable energy and battery storage, and to contribute to the country’s energy transition and its national and EU targets. Our acquisition of four solar projects will also allow us to combine energy production from renewable sources with agricultural activities, generating economic development for local communities and promoting energy independence. I would like to thank Enerland for being a great partner.”
