Enerland Group is driving solar energy in Guatemala with the inauguration of Magdalena Solar I, whose construction was carried out for MPC Energy Solutions.
This summer, the Enerland Group Guatemala team completed the construction of Magdalena Solar I, a photovoltaic energy project developed for MPC Energy Solutions, marking a decisive step in the expansion of clean energy in the country.
The new solar plant, located in La Democracia, Escuintla, has an installed capacity of 66 MWp and marks a double milestone for both companies. For MPC Energy Solutions, it represents its first solar plant in Guatemala, while for Enerland Group it signifies the culmination of its first construction project in Guatemala.
This achievement reaffirms both companies’ commitment to sustainable development and the promotion of renewable energy in Central America. Magdalena Solar I will not only help reduce CO₂ emissions, but will also generate a positive impact on the local economy through job creation and the strengthening of the country’s energy infrastructure.
The success of Magdalena Solar I reflects the shared vision between Enerland and MPC Energy Solutions: a commitment to innovation, sustainability and international cooperation as pillars of the energy development of the future. “With projects such as this, Guatemala is positioning itself as a regional benchmark in harnessing its solar potential, demonstrating that collaboration between committed companies can positively transform the energy landscape of an entire region,” added José Alfambra, Area Manager in LATAM at Enerland Group.
Magdalena Solar I not only lights Guatemalan homes with clean energy, but also symbolises a new dawn for renewable energy in Central America.
Enerland Group Guatemala: expansion
With this inauguration, Enerland Group is strengthening its presence in Guatemala and announcing a new stage of growth. The company is currently progressing with three additional projects under construction which, together, will add 71 MWp of solar capacity to the national electricity system. These initiatives form part of its strategy to drive the energy transition towards a more sustainable and accessible model.
