After six months of construction, Enerland Group completes the construction of the 14.3 MWp Caimán Cienaguero photovoltaic park for the client Greenyellow.
The multinational Enerland Group continues to consolidate its presence in Colombia. Following the construction of the photovoltaic plants La Tolúa (26.2 MWp) and Tierra Linda (12.7 MWp) at the beginning of this year, the renewable energy company recently completed the construction of its fourth solar park in the country, Caimán Cienaguero. This park, with a peak capacity of 14.3 MWp, was commissioned in November 2023 for the client Greenyellow.
Over the seven months of construction, a total of 22,000 solar panels were installed across 20 hectares of land. The project created 170 direct and indirect local jobs.
The park is estimated to generate 26,400 MWh of renewable energy per year: this amount of energy is equivalent to planting more than 399 thousand new trees in the region. It will also prevent the annual emission of 13,000 tonnes of polluting gases into the atmosphere, contributing to the country’s sustainable development.
“With the commercial operation of this project, at Enerland we have achieved a new milestone for the country's energy transition. We are proud to support clients such as Greenyellow in consolidating and meeting their goals while addressing the sector's many challenges. We will continue working with conviction and dedication to help achieve a Colombia with a clean energy mix." Óscar Berrío - Country Manager at Enerland Group Colombia.
Corporate Social Responsibility in Colombia
At Enerland, we are committed not only to the development of renewable energy, but also to achieving a sustainable future that is environmentally and socially responsible through good practice in every country where we are actively involved. In 2023, the Colombia team completed the construction of five solar power plants through its turnkey service for various clients in the region. In total, the company will bring into operation more than 100 MWp of renewable energy to feed into the country’s electricity grid over the course of this year.
