We continue our expansion in Portugal and set the world record for photovoltaics in €/MWh offered.

A year ago, in 2019, Enerland began its expansion activity in the neighbouring country. Through a tender process, our Enerland Portugal office won the auction to deliver a 15 MW photovoltaic energy project. At that time, a bid of 26.57€/MWh was submitted. Today, just one year later, we are proud to announce that Enerland Portugal has not only won a new auction through a tender process, but has also set a new world photovoltaic record in terms of the €/MWh bid offered.

On 25 August, a bid of 11.14€/MWh was submitted for lot number seven of the solar auction held in Portugal. Notably, this figure is less than half the bid submitted in the tender a year earlier. Thanks to this proposal, we were awarded the small 10 MW photovoltaic project. This bid was made under a CFD, or Contract for Difference, arrangement.

The bid of 11.14 €/MWh broke the world record for the photovoltaic industry in terms of the price offered per MWh. The previous record was set in Abu Dhabi during an auction at 11.60 €/MWh, which is 0.46 €/MWh above our current proposal.

Thanks to the award of these new projects, we now have 25 MW in development in Portugal and we hope to continue growing.

At Enerland, we are growing continuously and are committed to a sustainable future. The energy transition must evolve towards a renewable model that makes it possible to harness resources without negatively affecting the planet. Thanks to the awareness shown by institutions, this model is now possible. Committed to the objectives set by the UN in its 2030 Agenda, we aim to support the acceleration of this transition towards a better future.
