Last week, our colleague Salvatore Iliano, from Enerland Italy, took part as a speaker at Energyear 2021 in Milan, Italy.

Salvatore Iliano, Business Development Manager at Enerland Italia, took part as a speaker at Energyear 2021 in Milan, Italy. At this event, which was held last week, leading executives from the energy industry gathered to discuss the renewable energy sector. From Enerland Group, Salvatore represented the solar PV sector and took part in the panel: Energy clusters: what does it take to be profitable? The event discussed the elements needed to make energy clusters a profitable strategy.

Renewable energy is currently playing a leading role in the Italian energy market in order to achieve the decarbonisation targets set out in the government's agenda. Among the topics discussed were the state of renewable energy in Italy, as well as the future of energy companies and their role in meeting the established goals.

The attendees at 'Energyear Italia 2021' stood out for their high calibre and decision-making profile, which helped facilitate business opportunities at this type of event. In this edition, while complying with all established health regulations, capacity for the in-person format was reduced to 260 executives in a venue with space for 900 people. In addition, attendance was expanded to 1,000 participants virtually.

In total, more than 500 people from over 200 companies attended, of whom 70% were there in person and 30% followed it virtually. Owing to the pandemic, the venue maintained the strictest biosecurity protocols to ensure the safety of all participants.

Among the measures implemented were:

  • COVID test
  • Temperature control
  • Use of masks
  • Continuous disinfection of each conference room

During the two days of the event, we not only had the pleasure of taking part as speakers. We were also able to interact with other experts, hold meetings and exchange ideas and views on Italy’s energy future.
