We attended Conama ’22, which is the largest environmental event held for 30 years in Spain.
We attended Conama ’22, the National Environmental Congress, held in Madrid. Together with our colleagues Daisy Rodriguez and Javier Franco, manager and technician in the environment department respectively, and with Pilar Asta, head of the marketing and communications department, we delve into it to learn about its upcoming environmental ambitions.
Although the congress programme was extensive and revolved around 9 different thematic areas, our colleagues attended those talks related to renewable energy, rural development, environmental quality and the economy.
Throughout the various sessions, they reached conclusions that will help us continue to drive forward our environmentally responsible renewable energy model. They also had the opportunity to hear experiences and concerns from other sectors such as agriculture. Iinnovations in the sector or in complementary sectors and future urban and social prospects were other key topics addressed. Of the latter, the following stand out: a transition towards an economy based on circularity and cities as hubs of energy generation. Furthermore, made clear the need to change or create new laws to promote and encourage all developments towards a sustainable model.
"We have taken many ideas away from the conference to apply both to our projects and to the company's day-to-day work. Without local action, it is impossible to commit to sustainability and implement it globally. I am sure that, from Enerland, we will continue working towards a renewable model that is fully respectful of the environment and society."- Pilar Asta Marteles, head of the Marketing and Communication Department at Enerland Group.
In general, Conama ’22 was a complete success. More than 1,200 specialists in different environmental fields took part, together with over 500 speakers and 380 organisations from across the country. Among the most notable attendees was the Minister for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge, Teresa Ribera.
We hope to see each other again at the next edition.
