Last week our colleagues in Colombia attended the Latam Future Energy Andean Renewable Summit 2022 in Bogotá, Colombia. This event brought together more than 500 key attendees from both the public and private sectors to analyse the country's energy opportunities. The current state of solar and wind energy was also addressed, and their future in the region was discussed.
In this third edition, the event began with a sector-wide perspective on the role of solar PV and wind energy in the Colombia of the future. Our colleague, Oscar Berrio, was one of the speakers on the discussion panel: "Construction innovation and technological development as drivers of competitiveness in the solar PV sector in the Andean region". "I am very grateful to the organising team of the Latam Future Energy 2022 event for the invitation. It was a great success. It is extremely valuable for spaces like these to be created so that the sector's leading stakeholders can discuss the future of the renewable sector in Colombia. At Enerland, we share an optimistic vision for making the Energy Transition in the country a reality.".
In addition to Óscar's contribution during the talk, Hernando Restrepo, the country's Commercial Manager, and José Alfambra, Area Manager LATAM & Spain, were also present. 'There are high expectations in the country. In the construction sector, there is a portfolio of projects with a fairly extensive projected grid connection timeline for 2023, and the sector is seeing a favourable environment for participation. At Enerland Colombia, we have also seen significant growth. We are going to move from 38 MW this year to delivering 56 MW next year," says Hernando.
The conclusions drawn during the Latam Future Energy Andean Renewable Summit 2022 were clear. Everything indicates that the sector is moving ahead in leaps and bounds and that Colombia's energy transition is on the right track. We hope to return again at the next edition.
