San Martín Photovoltaic Park continues to progress: Pull Out Test trials begin.
A few days ago, our colleague José Alfambra, area manager and Benjamin Reynal, project manager of the San Martín photovoltaic park travelled to Argentina. The aim of the trip was to assess first-hand the progress of the San Martín photovoltaic installation.
During their visit, the first tests of Pull Out Test on the land of the solar plant located in Mendoza, Argentina. Using the results obtained from these tests, an assessment is carried out of the performance of the profiles used in the structures based on the characteristics of the different existing ground types.
"The Pull Out Test is an essential stage of detailed engineering. Thanks to these tests, it is possible to define the profile design more accurately. They also make it easier to define the procedure for installing them at the photovoltaic plant. In this way, construction times are optimised while always ensuring the best performance of the installation and the least impact on the land.”- Susana Mazo, Civil Manager in Enerland Group's Engineering Department.
Our presence in Argentina
This solar plant located in Mendoza, Argentina, was awarded through the Renovar Mini/Round 3 Programme and it will be our first solar project in South America. San Martin, with a capacity of 13.6 MWp, will, once completed, become our fifteenth renewable energy generation plant on the continent.
In November last year, the The Ministry of Energy authorised the entry of the energy produced by the plant into the electricity market. Back in 2019, we were informed that our project met all the required criteria. A few years later, authorisation for grid access marked another major milestone in the park's development. Thanks to this, progress continued up to the present day, when the first on-site tests have taken place.
